Charleston Federal Credit Union was chartered on April 3, 1959 for the Federal employees who work in or supervised from Kanawha Valley (except for Postal employees, IRS employees and employees of the Dept. of Health, Education and Welfare), employees of this credit union; members of their immediate families and organizations of such persons. Since being chartered we have also taken in the employees of the University of Charleston, Charleston Job Corp., and the employees of Goodwill, Ind. and Northern Management who work in the Robert C. Byrd Federal Courthouse and their immediate families.
